MEDIAMATIC HAS A FABLAB


A FabLab is a public workspace where everybody can turn their ideas into real products, with the help of new cutting-edge machines. The FabLab is open during el Hema opening hours – Thursday / Saturday from 18.00-22.00 and Sunday from 14.00- 18.00 hours. But it’s also possible to make an appointment or to drop by at our open sessions, every Wednesday from 18.00 hours. (More information can be found here: www.mediamatic.net/article-19942-en.html)

FABLAB WORKSHOP on SPATIAL TYPOGRAPHY
Around the possibilities of the FabLab, Mediamatic organised a workshop on spatial typography: letters on walls, in public spaces, suspended in air, as shadow forms, etcetera.

The workshop is intended for graphic -, product -, exhibition and other designers, architects, and others interested in using letters spatially. Participants to the workshop can make their own spatial typographic prototype, and recieve a thorough introduction in the FabLab machines. Mirthe Blussé and Rein Jansma will introduce the concepts of the workshop, technical coaching is in the hands of Bernardo Gaeiras and Irene Nooren. The workshop takes place at
Wednesday September 12, from 10.00 till 17.00 hours
in the FabLab at Mediamatic, PostCS building, ground floor, (side-entrance),
Oosterdokskade 5, Amsterdam.
Participation fee is € 150,- inc. VAT.
